Becoming A Participant
The PreDICTR Study is seeking women with the following criteria:
- Women who are planning to become pregnant within 12 months and who do become pregnant within that time frame. We will be evaluating this group of women before conception, 4 weeks after conception and throughout their pregnancy. The offspring from this pregnancy will be followed post natally at 6 months, 12 months and 18 months old. At these times we will simply assess your child's development and get a brief medical history for your child. (Pre-Conception Cohort)
- Women who are in their first trimester of pregnancy. We will be evaluating this group of women in their first trimester of pregnancy and throughout their pregnancy. The offspring from this pregnancy will be followed post natally at 6 months, 12 months and 18 months old. At these times we will simply assess your child's development and get a brief medical history for your child.
- Women identified by their physician as having high risk birth indicators: Diabetes, obesity, high blood pressure, history of infections, history of premature labor/delivery or indication of premature labor/delivery or underlying medical conditions. We will evaluate this group of women in their third trimester of pregnancy and the offspring from this pregnancy will be followed post natally at 6 months, 12 months and 18 months old.
